Wow!

Had to do another Valentino handbag post, cuz this one, literally, blew me away! lol
Check it out (Seeing is believing..)

How gorgeous are these bags!

The Valentino Handbags for this upcoming fall 2009 are fabolous! Very different from the "rose inspired" bags Valentino has been designing, but still gorgeous! This collection is divided into two distinct styles, the heavily embellished and the very simple. I prefer the embellished flashy bags because the plain leather ones are just too boring for my liking. The idea is, the simple bags are for the day and the shiny glitzy totes are for the evening.

Here are my top 2 from the collection, absolute MUST-HAVES! ;) We love you Valentino!

Celebrity Closets...My dream, Our dream Closet

How abosolutely amaziiiiiing would it be to have a closet like this, and honestly, Mariah Carey's shoe collection has me weak in the knee's...Aaah!

One, two, three...I'm sure it's pretty simple.

Kimberly Vlamnick is suing the tattoo artist who put 56 stars on her face when she says she only asked him for three. She says that because he is Romanian he didn't understand her. 'I think he didn’t understand what I wanted. He spoke only spoke English and French. 'But I explicitly said in my native tongue, French, and also in a little bit of English when he looked confused, that I wanted three little stars only near my left eye. She is now suing the tattoo artist. To remove them is going to cost about $15,000.

You know what, some things in life, I'll just never understand. How on earth was this girl AWAKE and AWARE, and still failed to realize that the tattoo artist maybe, just maybe, might be taking a little too long to get just three tattoo's done! Did she not FEEL the other 56 being drawn on her face???? Silly girl.

Sub7ana Allah! Nothing more to say... :S

Pure Genius

The only vending machines I've come across are the ones that sell drinks, chocolates, candies etc. However, some guy in England just came up with a genius idea: a vending machine that sells flat shoes! The brainstrom is targetted towards female club goers and the idea is, when your out having a great night dancing your toes off, you don't want aching feet to cramp your style. So all you have to do is pop five pounds in a machine and choose between small, medium and large sizes in pink, silver or black. Out comes the shoe rolled up inside its own bag, uncurl the pump and off you go.

Now tell me that isn't one of the most innovative ideas! Here in the khaleej, we need to set those brilliant vending machines inside shopping malls. I've definitely had one too many occassions when I couldn't even walk anymore, and some comfy flats would have made my day. But PS: they better be cute! ;)

Illamasqua? The new MAC?? Tell me more...

Never heard about the make-up brand Illamasqua, but apparently theres a lot of rave about it and it has created a huge buzz among makeup lovers in the UK. A fan of the new brand says: "I will certainly purchase their products again. They are amazingly pigmented and they have such creative colours that I haven't seen elsewhere. I love their style philosophy and image. They are a little bit different to mainstream make up companies and they embrace an alternate make up look. I am loving them and their website is lush!"

"Illamasqua gets its inspiration from “the dark and illicit 1920s club scene” and combines that with the influence of film and theatre makeup as well as “alternative scenes” that tend toward the dramatic. The result is a bold collection that goes way beyond expectation in terms of color and performance. From full-coverage foundations minus the heaviness to cream eyeshadows that come in impossible-to-find hues, Illamasqua definitely delivers. While they’re certainly not for the faint of heart, we dare you not to love them."
Sounds like fun! Their ad campaign is fabooosh, so I'm already lovin it!

Their latest collection "Sirens" is available exclusively at Selfridges Oxford Street and Selfridges Manchester Trafford. Also, online at their official website. Yalla! Hope it hits our stores here in Dubai ASAP...we dont wanna miss out! :(

Helloo Drama!

I woke up this morning, and as always, had breakfast along side my Gulf news newspaper. Something gets my attention at the top of the page: It's Paris Hiltons picture and right by it:"Paris Ready to Party In Dubai, Nation P.5, Tabloid!" I heard rumours about her coming to Dubai, but I thought it must just be gossip. I mean, seriously, Paris Hilton? Dubai? I think not.
Well, much to my surprise, it's true, she really is coming to town. Not only is she coming, but apparently she's also shooting her lame reality TV show "Paris Hilton's New BFF"
Paris Hilton is probably one of the most famous people in the world today, and it is not because she has accomplished anything in her young life. We all know how she initially became famous, and before that she was just a spoilt lil rich girl. The message this girl sends out is horrible. Lets not forget her recent DUI, and her glorious 23 days in prison. Right after that, her so called "career" sky rockitted, which once again proves that "no publicity is bad publicity."
So here we are today, and soon Paris Hilton will be gracing us with her ever so wonderful presence. Gulf News qoutes"Hilton will start partying as soon as she lands here.." and how nice of them to put her up on a pedestal and praise her because this is exactly the kind of influence we want young girls to follow, right?
Honestly, I really dont care about her visit, her show, or anything to do with her, I'm just appalled that we, as a Muslim country, would allow and give this much recognition to a meaningless person like her. I cant wait to see what will come out of all of this...because after all, we are talking about Paris Hilton right? Allah yhdeeha...

YSL Treasures of Africa Collection for Summer 2009

The NEW SUMMER LOOK 2009 is a tribute to a vividly imagined land that invites us to discover the treasures of Africa. The Yves Saint Laurent woman defies the fiery rays of the sun at its zenith. In the season’s visual, her lips are natural and just slightly colored to emphasize the tantalizing power of her monochromatic, deep blue eye shadow. Hovering between darkness and light with radiant, contrasting colors, she proclaims the power of supreme seduction. The sensuality of the sun illuminates her skin with golden hues, while her intense eyes affirm her presence, and her lips are sheathed in fleshy transparency.

I abosolutely L-O-V-E it ! ! !

So summery, so fresh!

Home Sweet Home

Well,Its been about a week since I got back, and I'm still adjusting. I study in the U.S. so its always a struggle adapting back to life in Dubai. When I first arrived in the states, everyone was so amazed by how much I dressed up. I would dress up for everything, and that came naturally to me. To them "dressing up" meant anything that wasn't a simple t-shirt and sweat pants. In my opinion, I was shocked at how casual Americans really are. I dont know if I'd even call it casual...more like carefree.

Fast forward to 2009, and sad to say it, but I'm a completely transformed person today. When I say transformed, in no way do I mean my morals and values. What I mean is, I'm a much more...umm..."casual" person now. Gone are the days when I used to fuss over which lipstick to wear, russian red oooor pink poodle? Or the endless hours spent at the hair salon, sometimes for no reason, but just to get pampered. The transition happened slowly but gradually, and I miss being the glamorous Dubai girl that I once was. It got a little tiering always being the odd one out you know? Besides, in my defense, I never knew how comfy sweat pants really are!

Returning back to Dubai can be a bitter/sweet feeling. Bitter because it feels weird seeing all my old friends and realizing how much things change while I've been gone and Sweet because its Dubai! Its home, and home is where the heart is. Hanging out with friends isn't what it used to be. Its me attempting to understand what they're blabbing on about, something about a new hang out called "the walk?" (the What?) or "the hottest birkin?" (Umm, not really) "Omg, did you see the black Alexander McQeen pumps?" NO! No I haven't! I wonder sometimes if other people go through the same thing once they've left and returned. Or maybe I'm just surrounded by vain people...lol.

Right now I'm in my transitional phase and I'm just starting to get used to being back home. Yesterday me and mama went to Dubai Mall. Before leaving the house, she says "7abeebty, wheres your make-up?? Why do you look so dressed down?" Thats right! I'm back home now so of course I had to go back and get glammed up in order to leave my house. A few years ago, that would have come oh-so-naturally.

Aaah, but its great being back. Nothing like home cooked meals (I never take it for granted anymore), nothing like the beautiful Dubai sun (didnt know how much I'd miss it) and our amazing shopping! (Have you guys seen the new Dubai Mall - Mashallah!) Trust me, I've been around, and shopping in Dubai is exceptional! Oh how I've missed driving on Sheikh Zayed Rd., and hearing the Athan five times a day, and seeing the 3abba's and 3gal's...AND the traffic! Yes! Even the traffic makes me smile, just because I missed it THAT much!

By the time I've completely gotten used to being back, it'll be time to leave again...*sigh* cant wait to graduate and be back home for good Inshallah :)

By the way, Emarati and Proud! (I realize that was completely random, forgive me, I can be a little impetuous)

My latest style icon...Olivia Palermo.

For those of you that dont know who Olivia Palmero is...well, she's New York's socialite 'it-girl' of the moment. She's part of MTV's reality tv show, The City. Apart from her amazing style, shes intelligent, independent, and FIESTY! Gotta love a girl who knows how to get what she want, and I cant blame her. Okaaaay, I know she can be a little too mean sometimes, but whatever! Whitney just needs to step up her game...its survival of the fittest remember?

All in all, the girls got style thats to die for! What I love most about Olivia is that she doesn't need to show a lot of skin to get attention. She defines sophistication, class and elegance...Olivia is FASHION.

Why I decided to start my own blog...

Well, first off, I've never even thought of starting my own blog until a few hours ago. So being the impulsive person that I am, I decided to cave in and join the world of blogging.

Also, since I'm not a part of facebook, myspace, twitter etc. (for very good, legitimate reasons) I figured this might be a good way to waste some free time...so Bismillah...here we go...!
